Professional Summary
Gary Kirk is a senior Alberta lawyer with more than 25 years of experience in family law, wills and estates, civil litigation, and alternative dispute resolution. He is known for his practical judgment, strong advocacy skills, and calm, solution‑focused approach to resolving complex legal disputes.
In addition to his work as counsel, Gary maintains a significant practice as a mediator and arbitrator. He has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta, and his litigation experience includes a number of reported decisions of the Alberta Court of King’s Bench and the Alberta Court of Appeal. This extensive courtroom background informs his work as a neutral and allows him to approach disputes with a balanced, legally grounded perspective.

He regularly assists parties in resolving estate, family, and civil disputes, with a focus on practical outcomes, efficiency, and long‑term durability of settlements.
Gary is also deeply committed to legal education and community service. He regularly presents public seminars on estate planning, has contributed to the training of articling students through the Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education, presented as faculty for the Legal Education Society of Alberta continuing legal education seminars, and is a frequent speaker for professional legal organizations across Alberta.
