Professional Summary
Stacey has practiced exclusively in the area of family law since her call to the Alberta Bar in 2014. Before entering private practice, she worked and volunteered with Family Justice Services (now Resolution Services) at the Calgary Courts Centre from 2010 to 2014, serving as a judicial clerk and intake worker and assisting individuals navigating a wide range of family law matters. This experience provided her with a strong foundation in court processes, dispute resolution, and client support at all stages of family proceedings.
Stacey strongly believes that clients are best served through alternative dispute resolution processes such as mediation and arbitration, and she regularly encourages parties to explore these options before resorting to litigation. Her approach emphasizes efficiency, constructive problem‑solving, and minimizing conflict wherever possible. At the same time, Stacey understands that court intervention is sometimes necessary to move matters forward, and she is equally comfortable advocating for her clients in the courtroom when required.
In addition to her family law practice, Stacey is highly engaged in professional leadership and legal education. She currently serves as the Provincial Chair of the Canadian Bar Association’s Inns of Court Program, overseeing programs in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, and Lethbridge. She has also held numerous leadership roles within the Canadian Bar Association, including serving as a Director of the Alberta Branch and as past Chair of the Articling Student, Family Law, and ADR South Sections.
Stacey’s diverse academic background, which includes advanced degrees in engineering and psychology in addition to her legal training, brings a unique analytical and multidisciplinary perspective to her family law practice. She is also an active contributor to scholarly dialogue in family law, with multiple publications presented at National Family Law Program conferences across Canada. Her ongoing involvement in professional development, community service, and thought leadership reflects a deep commitment to excellence in both advocacy and dispute resolution.
