Our Legal Counsel
The lawyers at Kirk Montoute Dawson LLP bring experience and sincere enthusiasm to the practice of law. Mentored in traditional forms of resolving disputes, including courtroom litigation, we have chosen to expand our skill set to offer clients options in non-adversarial processes. Gary Kirk and Wanda Dawson are experienced mediators and can act as an impartial facilitator in out-of-court negotiations. We are also trained in collaborative law, an effective interest-based form of negotiation that is preferred by many of our family law clients.
Gary has been practicing as a lawyer for more than 25 years and is the managing partner of Kirk Montoute Dawson LLP. Gary also has extensive training as a Mediator and has participated in numerous Mediation, Arbitration and Judicial Dispute Resolution hearings.
Nigel established his first law firm in 1997 and has been practicing law for 25 years. He has appeared before all levels of Court throughout Alberta, and is familiar with all forums of Alternative Dispute Resolution. He is committed to maximizing client recovery, minimizing client exposure and realizing optimal outcomes.
Wanda has been practicing as a lawyer for more than 20 years and is a partner of Kirk Montoute Dawson LLP. Wanda also has extensive training as a Mediator, Arbitrator, and Parenting Coordinator. Wanda has participated in numerous Mediation, Arbitration and Judicial Dispute Resolution hearings.
stacey haskins
Stacey has practiced exclusively in the area of family law since her call to the Bar in 2014, and between 2010 and 2014 she worked and/or volunteered with Family Justice Services (now Resolution Services) at the Calgary Courts Centre as a judicial clerk/intake worker assisting individuals with Family Law matters.
sarah macdonald
Sarah believes that her role is to empower her clients with the information, guidance and advice they need to help them settle their family law issues. Sarah encourages clients to consider and use alternative dispute options such as mediation or arbitration, whenever possible. However, Sarah will represent clients in Court when appropriate and necessary.
Michael Ross
Michael joined Kirk Montoute Dawson LLP as an associate in August 2019. Michael graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Calgary in 2016. During his time at the University of Calgary, he volunteered for the Innocence Project.
KYRIE BOUSCAL
Student-at-law
Kyrie joined Kirk Montoute Dawson LLP as a Student-at-Law in August 2024. Kyrie graduated from the Faculty of Law at Queen's University in 2024. During her time at Queen's University, she volunteered with the First-Generation Network, Pro Bono Students Canada, and the Queen's Elder Law Clinic.
